Idle Free campaign posters
The Issue
If vehicles avoided idling by just three minutes a day, Canadians would collectively save 630 million litres of fuel, and $945 million in fuel costs over the year (assuming a fuel cost of $1.50/L). This would also save 6.3 billion kilograms of GHG emissions. The bottom line is that idling reduces engine life, wastes fuel and money, and generates emissions that are harmful to both human health and the environment.
Spread awareness that idling is not cool for the climate or our health.
Project Overview
Create a poster or flyer to illustrate the impacts of vehicle idling, which can be used by the City of Surrey and various schools to send the message that idling is not cool.
Completed posters/flyers should contain information that communicates the reason(s) that it is important for drivers to shut-off the engine when idling for more than 10 seconds.
