The Art of Engagement

The Art of Engagement

Art is an important part of reaching the public about new ways of thinking and exploring what is possible.  We encourage those who live artistically or have a creative hobby to contribute their talent.  A sustainable society will happen when everyone comes together to make it happen.

The Issue:

Art is a catalyst for progressing social change. There are a variety of mediums that can be used to entertain, attract attention, or provoke thought about a subject.

Many of the action projects on this site include some art aspect in the description. But for those who are passionate about art and are excited by the possibility to mold a project from conception to completion, we want to provide a place to recognize your contribution and to use it to help power the difference we want to make in building a sustainable Surrey.

What does Sustainability in Surrey look like?

According to the Surrey Sustainability Charter:

“Sustainability” means meeting the needs of the present
generation in terms of socio-cultural systems, the
economy and the environment while promoting a high
quality of life but without compromising the ability of
future generations to meet their own needs.
