Surrey's Environmental Extravaganza is an excellent time to get involved in your community and complete those volunteer hours required for graduation.
But not only that, it is a great way to meet people and build up your resume by adding new skills and experience. Being "Green" may have seemed to start out as a trendy expression, but it is fastly becoming a sought after quality by employers.
As businesses and organizations rise to the challenge of going green, they will need an employee base that can support their endevours. Showing your leadership in this area can be the advantage that you need to break into a new industry. It was not so long ago that there seemed to be more help wanted signs than available workers. But with our economy shifting from old ways of doing business to new more sustainable ways, we find ourselves caught in a transition period that is seeing many people without work. Becoming eco-literate can put the shine on your application to make it stand out from the stack.
Your U-turn is here to help you get that experience. Get involved by starting your own project at your school. Now more than ever we need people to help spread the word that our society needs to take a U-turn and get on a greener path. And that is where you come in. We need you to show us the steps.
